When asked about lefty groups possibly linked to Tyler Robinson, who’s accused of shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University last Wednesday, Trump lashed out at the political point of view as a whole.

“The problem? Is on the left, it’s not on the right, like some people like to say on the right. The problem we have is on the left,” he told reporters gathered on the tarmac at Morristown Airport in New Jersey.

“And when you look at the agitators, you look at the scum that speak so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that’s the left. That’s not the right,” he said.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox noted that investigators are looking into the pair’s relationship as playing a part in Robinson’s possible motivation.

Other posts online alluding to Kirk’s demise have raised flags about whether a wider organization knew about Robinson’s plan ahead of the assassination. The posts have also cast doubt on whether Robinson truly acted alone
